In my Heart

In my church we're counciled to keep a record of our lives for our future posterity. This is my record for now, of the things of my heart.

C.R.U.D.E. Alert - Jessica Simpson

Well, I've decided to try and help Peter in his effort against inappropriate entertainment. I think a name would be good, and I'm going to suggest C.R.U.D.E. to Peter, which stands for Crusade to Remove Ungodly Demeaning Entertainment. My first C.R.U.D.E. entry is about the gradual whoreification of Jessica Simpson.

Jessica started out so great! When Sweet Kisses came out I thought it was so neat, and I especially liked "Heart of Innocence".

With Jessica, I thought that here was a girl who speaks out against premarital sex and maybe "popular" music doesn't have to be all about people like Britney Spears. Well, here is a before and after shot of Ms. Simpson and this is just one example of how the liberal media can transform a person if we aren't careful.

If any are offended by the photograph here, I apologize but I'm just trying to show how bad the problem has gotten. Please be careful out there, I wasn't and have had some bad experiences.

Do you, like, never go to the mall around here? There are girls wearing far less than that, right here in your own Utahn city! You should walk up to each girl you see dressing immodestly and tell her she dresses like a whore and she's encouraging the boys around her to have lustful thoughts.

Moly, this post seems a little out of character for you. Is everything ok? It isn't like you to try and take things out on others, except for maybe your brother and Joseph Smith Johnson.

Are you having problems at home maybe? Please know that I'm here to help.

Well, Stephen will be home this weekend and he'll probably update his blog then. It seems like he really likes getting comments, and not even have been giving him very many!

Peter seems to post about once a week. He doesn't have the downtime of a receptionist that I have, or the lack of initiative that Stephen has so he doesn't post as much.

As for Joseph Smith Johnson, it looks like he moved back to California and won't be blogging anymore unless someone can coax him out of retirement. Maybe he would be interested in C.R.U.D.E....

I agree with anonymous, there are people who dress far more trashy then Jessica Simpson. Plus the example that you gave is a clip from her movie Dukes of Hazzard, which is based off a 70's show. So for the past 30 years there have been girls wearing those type of shorts.

I recommend you check out the website afa.net or onemillionmoms.com if you're serious about wanting to make a difference. They're occasionally a little too extreme for me, but they have had good results with their e-mail campaigns and boycotts. They make it really easy, too, so it doesn't take a lot of time.

You know, Molly, that first picture of Jessica didn't show her below her waist. She could have been wearing shorts just as bad down there, or, worse yet, nothing at all! Oh, how scandalous!

honestly, I know you're trying hard to be a good christian, but hiding your body, male or female, is something that has been decided by society. Think of the Bedouins or Albanian women, they're garbed up so that the only feature you see are their eyes. Their body is owned by men who establish their domain over the female body. So okay, don't let your panties get too sweaty and instead, why don't you take a further look into the history of clothing and what it has served for all these thousands of years and then look at yourself, observing the clothes you wear. Not everyone believes in the same things as you, not everyone believes in the same god as you, not everyone sees the body as something slutty or whorish.
